Brad Winkel is the afternoon bus driver of Bus #19 in Fort Madison, IA. If your child or anyone you know rides this bus, BEWARE OF BUS DRIVER!!!! Wednesday morning the 19th my Son who is in Kindergarten got dropped off at the wrong bus stop. My Son walked 6 blocks by himself when I found him in the Alley. This is Child Abandonment--Iowa Code 726.3, Any person who knowingly or recklessly exposes a child to dangers that she cannot responsably be expected to protect herself from or leaves a child alone in a similar situation.... Also the bus driver Brad Winkel walked off of the bus when the engine was running!!!!! Iowa Code 321.362-- If a school bus driver leaves the bus unattended for any reason and any amount of time, you must turn off the engine, set the brake, and take the keys with you... This driver did not even have full view of the drivers seat.. Abunch of children were on this bus and anyone of them could have put that bus in drive!!!! HE SHOULD BE FIRED!!!!! Also this bus driver opened his door for me (before even knowing what I wanted) and he let me on the bus.... IA School Bus Driver's Handbook--As a school bus driver you should never allow unauthorized persons to board your bus. This includes parents who may be waiting at bus stops or activity events. Persons who wish to talk to you should be asked to approach the bus at the driver’s side window!!!!! HE BROKE 3 BIG RULES!!!!! I had a meeting this morning with the Superintendant and the Bus Barn Direct Supervisor. They said they would not fire this bus driver.. They are going to have a talk with him. The bus driver should be FIRED!!!!! HE PUT TOOOO MANY KIDS IN HARMS WAY TOO MANY TIMES IN ONLY ABOUT AN HOUR!!!! I will NEVER let my child ride this bus with this bus driver!! PLEASE HELP US KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE... WE NEED RELIABLE AND RESPONABLE BUS DRIVERS FOR OUR CHILDREN, AND THIS DRIVER IS NOT ONE OF THEM!!!! HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!!!!
