A contingent of anti-gay activists are pushing to rewrite California's FAIR Education act (which calls for recognition of all history's movers and shakers, regardless of race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation) to exclude gay and lesbian young people.
The extremists are mobilizing to get a 2012 ballot referendum that would, if approved, turn the FAIR act into the UNFAIR act. According to PR Newswire, a LGBT spokesperson said: "They want . . . a false version of history: a version that intentionally excludes the real and historic accomplishments of LGBT people. And that is the REAL harm to the next generation."
