In the world we live in today, there is violence everywhere! On the streets, in homes, in the media, at schools and in the workplace, etc.. No one wants to be accountable anymore for what they have done wrong. There is always an excuse for everything. There is no respect for seniors, teachers, mothers, fathers, police, etc.. Our world has become a very scarey place to live in. That's not the way it should be. We should be able to live in this world with love, peace and respect for all and that includes animals, our beautiful planet, and especially, our oceans and all that inhabit within.
We have to start early by teaching our young children about respect for others, bullying and the harm it can do, stealing.... and all other important issues, that will help them as they grow older.
Now that we have DNA and other forensic procedures available, violent crimes can be dealt with and be proven beyond reasonable doubt. If all avenues have been researched properly and the DNA results still point to the accused, then he or she, should have to face the consequences.
We have to start changing for the better, we all have a lot of work to do, if we are going to make our world a better place to live in, especially for the next generation.
I believe that the death penalty should be the last resort, but it should be available if all else fails.
