Loan Forgiveness for Special Needs Parents

Student loans are forgiven in whole or in part for people who choose to work with special needs populations. Parents of children with special needs do not have a choice. Many times one parent must be available at all times to help with the care of the child(ren) making it difficult to hold down a job. Yet, the bills do not stop because a child has special needs, in fact, they continue to increase: therapy, doctor visits, medication, appliances, unpaid days from work.

It seems only right that parents who live with special needs children should be given the same consideration as people who choose to work with them. Certainly both groups are needed to enhance the lives of people with special needs, but right now only one group is allowed debt forgiveness as a choice.
