The Office For Sustainability at The New School is responsible for furthering the university's commitment to sustainability. However, this office is in danger as the Office of Facilities has elected to dissolve the Office without any disclosure as to why.
As a progressive institution, closing the Office For Sustainability will hinder our commitment to sustainability measures. For faculty and staff who have relied on support from the Office of Sustainability, we are requesting an explanation for why this change needed to happen. We also ask to know what plans are in place to absorb the needs left behind by the absence of this important resource. Lastly, we strongly urge you to reconsider dissolving this office.
