In the world of education many individuals, especially the administration, push their student(s) to achieve in higher education. In order to do that, colleges like to see more than two years of a foreign language, although the school recommends two. By depriving the students from a third year course of American Sign Language the students of Oceanside High School would not be able to stand a chance to compete for the acceptance of specific colleges due to the one year advantage that other schools are able to obtain. In order for the students of Oceanside High School to compete against other students, the level 3 class for American Sign Language must go into affect as the 2012-2013 school year even if there are only 10 students who applied. May it be 10 students or 25, the students who will apply for college will have 3 years of experience in American Sign Language which not only teaches the language but the importance and evolution of the deaf culture.
